Application: Warm Food Holding Trays

EGC collaborated with a customer in the food service industry to develop individual direct heated holding trays. The objective was to provide superior temperature control and temperature uniformity while reducing energy consumption below that of the current convection heated system.
Our thin-film polyester-glass element was applied to the customer’s polymer food holding tray. Then we overmolded the heater directly into the polymer tray.
