Description
A new and unique manufacturing process for the Triple Offset Butterfly Valve (TOBV) Seat Seal, it eliminates troublesome burrs and allows true, bidirectional shut off. The Seat Seal is manufactured with an offset shaft design which increases its sealing ability, decreases its tendency to wear, and allows for leak-free service.
The construction of the TOBV Seat Seal requires multi-layer components (typically one of metal and graphite) and very complex geometry. Seat seals are accurately cut using a lathe as opposed to a machining process. Normal applications require valve seats manufactured from Inconel, Monel, and Super Duplex alloys.
A major, triple-offset valve OEM test has proven that the TOBV Seat Seals provide positive bi-directional shut-off for 10,000+ cycles. Seat Seals are fire safe, seal at pressure classes to 900 lb., and seal in temperatures ranging from cryogenics to 1200F. TOBV Seat Seals are the only approved product of their type for US Standard Navy Valves.
