Description
The performance of any gasket is measured by its ability to withstand internal pressure, tolerate all temperatures and mediums, compress and compact during flange loading and to retain stress. The prime requirement is sufficient and constant unit load that forms a path around the gasket. Many liquids and gasses which come into contact with the gasket may be safe at ambient temperatures, but elevating the temperature even slightly may cause leakage, potentially dangerous situations or violent EPA fugitive emission laws. Please consult with you EGC Engineer if you have design questions.
