Conventional Pressure Seal

The Conventional Graphite Pressure Seal is a composite design that combines stainless steel caps top and bottom and high-density Thermafoil® flexible graphite.

Description

The Conventional Graphite Pressure Seal is a composite design that combines stainless steel caps top and bottom and high-density Thermafoil® flexible graphite. While the flexible graphite conforms to irregular sealing surfaces and adjusts to fit out-of-round and oversized conditions, the stainless steel caps provide strength and anti-extrusion capabilities. EGC developed the conventional graphite pressure seal for the US Navy to replace the silver plated metal seal.  The conventional graphite pressure seal was proven to be far superior to its metal predecessor. Some of the key characteristics it has over metal is its ease of installation and removal, ability to seal numerous valve body and bonnet imperfections and performed with zero leakage 100% of the time.
