EGC HELPS YOU KEEP UP WITH A DECADE OF POWER INDUSTRY CHANGES

Jan 31, 2020

EGC Enterprises, an engineering and manufacturing company in Northeast Ohio, has developed a comprehensive reference piece for valve solutions. The 12-page brochure, entitled “Valve solutions for a constantly changing world,” compares a decade of change in the power industry from sources used for fuel to the effect on a rebuilder during an outage. It then references the products that EGC has engineered to stay ahead of these changes.

EGC has been making graphite pressure seals for 25 years for the US Navy but ten years ago, EGC developed a methodology that conformed to aftermarket power industry lead-time requirements. All products MUST be engineered by EGC to conform with the valve cavity, but the VSG Pro pressure seals can be designed, manufactured and shipped on the same day with Fast Track. And, why not have your rising stem packing shipped with your pressure seal? That’s the VSG Pro Pack and it enables every valve to have custom engineered packing sets that are specifically designed for peak performance.

There are other products that EGC makes for the Power, Petrochemical and Chemical industries enumerated throughout the brochure. Thermafoil 2236 CLE packing is a product designed to virtually eliminate fugitive emissions. It averages just 2ppm without adjustment of the gland during testing performed at the Yarmouth Research and technology center. It has passed API 622 and will not degrade in temperatures up to 850 degrees F.

EGC has a solution to diminishing gland force.  It’s called live-loaded packing and it’s done with Belleville spring washers. They press against the check-nuts and the flange to maintain consistent pressure on the gland. They can absorb shock, provide dampening and support extreme forces in bolted areas.

Thermafoil Alta-P (TF-LAP) gaskets provide the ultimate toughness in very high-pressure applications. It consists of two parts, graphite and stainless steel with no adhesive binders. Alta-P can handle up to 40,000 psi unit load and system pressures of up to 3,500 psi in non-contained applications.

Each product contains information on standard delivery, material, applications, available sizes, pressure and temperature limits and chemical resistance. There is also information on our expedite program Fast Track, and how it can help when your back is to the wall.
